How we collect information
We process information received from contact forms on our website to handle enquiries and services to our clients and suppliers effectively. We process information received from our clients or suppliers about our services with them and about customers to enable AIT Home Delivery (UK) to deliver items purchased from the clients to a delivery address.
AIT Home Delivery (UK) can also receive delivery information via the manufacturer of an item rather than the supplier to enable delivery of the purchased item.
These records may include:
- Contact details such as name, corporate email address, job title and contact number
- Basic delivery details, such as name, delivery address and contact number.
- Contact we have had with the customer, i.e. confirmation of delivery made.
- Reports on management information.
- Complaint records.
Recipients of personal data
Sometimes we may need to share personal data of end customers with the company the end customer made the purchase from. This is to allow for the effective handling of complaints and queries received from the end customer.
Details of transfers to third countries
Our main operations are based in the UK, and your personal data is generally processed, stored and used within the UK. In some instances, your personal data may be processed outside the UK. For example, our sales enquiry form is used to process orders or enquiries about our services, the system used to store this information is held in the US by AIT Worldwide. Operatives in this location can have access to your account data in order to assist you with your query.
When we transfer data to the US, we take steps to ensure there is an adequate level of security, so your personal data is protected in a similar way as if it was being used within the UK.
Where we need to transfer your personal data outside the UK, and if the recipient country has not been determined as providing an equivalent adequate level of protection as the UK and EU, we will use one of the following safeguards:
- The International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum for the transfer of personal data to third countries.
- For transfers to our US counterpart, we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for data from the EEA and its UK Extension for data from the UK.
Where required, these safeguards are supplemented by a Transfer Risk Assessment to validate the protection of your personal data in the destination country.
AIT Home Delivery (UK) may receive customer details, as listed above, from clients outside of the EEA, where customers based in the UK have purchased items from clients based in third countries.
Retention period of your data
You can request a copy of AIT Home Delivery (UK)’s Document Management & Retention policy from [email protected] or download a version from our website.
