AIT Home Delivery Wins Contract with Fast-Growing Start-Up Kubbi to Help Deliver Ambitious Growth Plans

Kubbi Bikes gaining pace with support of AIT Home Delivery

A successful working relationship with AIT Home Delivery in a previous role has prompted the head of exciting start-up electric bike importer Kubbi to partner with the company once again as he seeks to hit the ground running with a vibrant new venture.

Based in Northern Ireland and targeting youngsters across the UK, Kubbi’s mission is to encourage children and teenagers away from screens and tablets and into the great outdoors, embracing adventure, freedom and fun with friends through electric dirt bikes, scooters and quads.

With ambitious growth plans for Kubbi’s first three years, Paul Tempany, Co-founder and Director, met with a total of four two-person carriers, including one company which already handles his smaller deliveries such as safety helmets.

But with previous experience of AIT in another role, he appointed the carrier confident of receiving a first-class service capable of supporting Kubbi’s exciting growth journey from day one.

Paul said:

“I worked with AIT Home Delivery when it was known as Panther Logistics, so I knew very well from first-hand experience that the quality of its service matched its reputation and that what I needed doing would be done. Of course problems arise which can’t be helped – it’s the nature of logistics – but AIT’s manager at its depot in Larne, Co. Antrim is excellent to deal with. Anything that needs doing is done and problems are resolved pretty quickly.”

Marking its first birthday at the end of June Kubbi is on track to achieve a £1.2 million turnover this year, with a projected £4 million next year and £15 million in 2027-28.

Unlike other retailers who sell electric bikes, scooters and quads, Kubbi specialises exclusively in children’s products. Selling top-grade products with a high-specification, quality build imported from a large factory in China, the items’ USP is their parental controls, which offer greater peace of mind than the single-speed setting that is the norm among rival products.

The ranges also come with braking systems made up of double disc or double drum brakes for added safety.

Kubbi also specialises in safety helmets for children, which the company actively promotes alongside sales of its scooters, bikes and quads.

All items are mostly assembled, with just handlebars to affix once the goods are received.

Orders are collected from Kubbi’s warehouse in Northern Ireland before being shipped from Belfast or Larne across to England and then on to another lorry. Customers are offered a service of three to five working days and a return service is also available through AIT.

Paul said:

“We have daily collections from AIT – two vans on a Monday to sort the weekend orders, then one van on all of the other days. Even though we’re a new company we’ve received many positive reviews about AIT, with customers complimenting their drivers, which is great as it’s all part of the positive experience we try to provide to Kubbi customers.”

Paul said demand is so high that stock can often run low. Demand is being driven by consumers moving away from petrol bikes and quads to electric alternatives, which are safer, easier to run and growing rapidly in popularity.

Samuel Scott is the Sales Director of AIT Home Delivery UK and Europe. He said:

“We have long enjoyed an excellent working relationship with Paul and we are delighted to be working with him again and playing an integral role in helping Kubbi achieve early success and support its continued growth.”
